As part of its 2017 conference, UNCERTAIN FUTURES, the Canadian Association of American Studies presents FUTURE MAKING at OCAD University on October 28, 2017.
FUTURE MAKING is a multi and interdisciplinary symposium of art and design featuring creators working in speculative design, architecture, music, media art, craft, film, and comix in four sessions.
Four sessions will present compelling accounts of current artistic and design praxis that engage with, represent, or interrogate current cultural understandings, beliefs, fears about – or fantasies of – the future; whose work speculates on what the future will be; and who propose through their work to contribute toward shaping of the future.
